Zig Zag Productions has secured a new extreme sports television series starring recently retired England cricketer Andrew Flintoff.??
The ‘Freddie vs The World’ series will be aired on ITV4 and will include eight 60-minute programmes.
The series will see the former England player take on other retired sports stars, including Austin Healey, Darren Gough, Joe Calzaghe and Mark Phillipoussis, in a host of challenges across North America. ??
Warm-up events include free diving. swimming with sharks and drag racing in Nevada.??
England all-rounder Flintoff announced his retirement from all formats of cricket because of a long-standing knee injury.??
Zig Zag chief executive Danny Fenton said Flintoff ideal for the show: ‘In audience research among young males, he scores as highly as anyone. He’s charismatic and wants both a media career and a new challenge now he’s retired from cricket. This show fitted the bill perfectly.’
