On the day new England manager Roy Hodgson names his European Championship squad, some of the UK’s top football journalists are set to attend a preview evening – FWA Live – ahead this summer’s competition on Wednesday May 16th at the Imagination Gallery in central London, in support of the National Literacy Association.

Hodgson was appointed England manager on a four-year deal last week, that sees the West Brom boss succeed Fabio Capello.

Before he names his squad, the 64 year-old will lead the Baggies into their final Premier League game against Arsenal on Sunday knowing that a win would guarantee the club a top 10 finish.

Hosted by the Football Writers’ Association, the evening will feature a panel of experts looking ahead to this summer’s tournament in Poland and Ukraine to preview England’s chances of success, name their first XI line-ups, as well as make their predictions as to which nation will lift the coveted trophy.

The panel is hosted by Daily Star’s Brian Woolnough and includes the Daily Telegraph’s Henry Winter, The Sun’s Shaun Custis, Sunday Mirror’s Andy Dunn and the Daily Mail’s Matt Lawton.

They will also be joined by former England captain Gary Lineker; Adrian Bevington, the Club England Managing Director at The Football Association with Sky Sports News anchor Charlotte Jackson taking questions from the audience.

Limited tickets are still available, and more details can be found at footballwriters.co.uk/fwa-live.
