The Football League has secured a deal with Virgin Media which will see matches
from the league’s three divisions broadcast on the media company’s broadband and
mobile phone platforms.
The agreement will run for an initial two seasons and begins in time for the
start of the new Coca-Cola Championship, League 1 and League 2 season on 11th
August.
Highlights of Football League matches will be available to watch on-demand to
Virgin Media broadband and mobile phone customers for up to one week after
transmission.
The deal represents a first for the Football League as it looks to expand its
reach across digital platforms.
