Football League Appoints New Rights Chief

The Football League has appointed Alfonso Medina to the position of head of media rights.

Medina, who has more than ten years of commercial and broadcast experience in the sport industry, has moved from Endemol International where he was director of sales, sports rights. Medina has also worked for the International Tennis Federation and ESPN.

‘I’m delighted to welcome Alfonso to The Football League,’ said Football League chief commercial officer, Richard Heaselgrave. ‘His international experience of sports broadcasting, including production and programming, will be a huge asset as we enter an important era in the sports rights market.’

Medina added: ‘This is a terrific opportunity and I look forward to working with our broadcast partners and clubs to help build the profile and commercial value of The Football League’s media and digital assets in the UK and around the world.’
