The Football League has launched a campaign to engage the global fan base of its 72 clubs, with the opportunity for overseas fans to win a trip to see their club play.

Titled Stand Up and Be Counted, the campaign calls on fans to register their country and city of residence via a dedicated microsite to show their support for their club.

The site features a leader board which enables fans to see where their club is ranked in comparison to the other 71 Football League clubs, as well as a map displaying the global reach of each club.

Registering their support will give fans the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win a trip for two to the United Kingdom, including flights, accommodation and match tickets to see their team play.

Football League matches and highlights are broadcast in up to 183 territories around the world each week throughout the season. This campaign, developed with digital product studio, 383, marks the first time the League has run a dedicated campaign to engage overseas fans.

Commenting on the campaign, Shaun Harvey, chief executive of The Football League, said: “Our 72 Football League clubs are at the very heart of their communities, but there are also passionate fans all around the world who follow their team each week through our international television coverage and online.

“This campaign is a first step towards our desire of directly engaging with that global fan base and bringing them closer to the clubs they support throughout next season and beyond“.
