The online division of The Football League, FL Interactive, has distributed a record amount of more than £3m to the league’s 72 clubs following a substantial boost in revenue.
The £3m figure made from online advertising and sponsorship during the 2007/08 season will be paid out to the clubs following a complete re-design of all the League clubs’ websites, which now regularly receive more than four-and-a-half million supporters logging on throughout the year.
FLi manages and develops the internet and mobile rights for 65 Football League clubs, six Premier League clubs and eight from the Football Conference.
It is the UK’s largest network of football information and generates more than 55m web pages every month.
