Former professional footballer Adebayo Akinfenwa has launched a new podcast series titled Beast Mode On in collaboration with Footballco, with a focus on players who have overcome significant challenges in their careers.

The podcast has debuted with an episode featuring former Watford forward Troy Deeney, who has discussed his early life, time in prison, and relationship with his late father.

The next episode is set to feature West Ham forward Michail Antonio. The series has drawn from Akinfenwa’s own experience, including the repeated claim that he was “too big” to play football professionally, despite having played for over 20 years across multiple tiers of English football.

Beast Mode On has been made available across major podcast platforms, YouTube, and Footballco’s GOAL channels, with additional promotion through Akinfenwa’s personal social media.

The project has continued GOAL’s approach to player-led content, which has included Front Three—a series that has received over 1.5 billion views in the past year.
