All-electric motor racing series Formula E has penned a multi-year sustainability-focused partnership with Aggreko.
Under the agreement, the global energy solutions provider, which becomes an official provider to Formula E, will work to ensure all 16 international races are powered by renewable sources such as biofuel, solar arrays, and the company’s latest battery technology.
Aggreko’s 300kVA batteries, which are capable of charging four cars simultaneously, will power all 24 cars at select races, as well as the circuit itself.
The industrial energy firm will also collaborate with Formula E to create dedicated plans for races in order to help power cars and reduce the series’ carbon emissions.
Tiziana di Gioia, Chief Revenue Officer at Formula E, said, “Aggreko is a trusted supplier and expert in forward thinking and sustainable temporary energy solutions, so we’re thrilled to have it on board as an official provider of the championship.
“It is vital to us in not just having the correct power to deliver our unique events, but done so in the most sustainable methods possible; something that Aggreko is a true leader and pioneer in.”
