Motosport agency Just Marketing International has announced it has signed new agreements with Sir Jackie Stewart and Niki Lauda, to represent the Formula One world champions.
Stewart is joining the agency after more than 40-years with IMG, while it is believed to be the first time that Lauda, the non-executive chairman of the Mercedes Formula One team, has been represented by a third-party agency.
Stewart and Lauda share six Formula One world titles between them, winning in 1969, 1971 and 1973, and 1975, 1977 and 1984, respectively.
JMI was acquired by Chime Communications in October, becoming part of its sports marketing division, CSM Sport & Entertainment.
Zak Brown, JMI’s chief executive, said of the deals: ‘Jackie Stewart and Niki Lauda are legendary global figures within motorsport, so supporting them with their business endeavours is something everyone at JMI is really looking forward to.’
Lauda commented: ‘I am delighted to be joining JMI. I have long been aware of their work in Formula One and I am looking forward to being involved with some of their exciting projects.’
Stewart added: ‘I had a very enjoyable and productive relationship with IMG for 45 years, but they are no longer in Formula One and therefore, my joining JMI is a very logical and practical engagement.’
Stewart and Lauda join a growing list of talent at JMI, which also includes four-time Nascar champion Jeff Gordon.
