Boxer Carl Frampton has announced Frank Warren as his new promoter after parting ways with Cyclone Promotions last month. The new deal means that the Northern Irishman’s bouts will be exclusive on BT Sport.
More detail is expected to be given at a press conference in Belfast on Wednesday to formally announce the union, while also revealing the date for his return to the ring. It is widely expected that a Belfast date fight will be announced, after Frampton made it clear that a homecoming fight was high on his list of priorities in any deal with a new promoter.
There was interest from a range of promoters in the UK and US, but Frampton wrote in his Sunday Life column, “it really came down to two very similar offers from Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren.”

The link up means that the Northern Irishman will become the face of BT Sport’s growing boxing coverage and his bouts will be exclusive on the channel.
The move comes after Frampton announced that he had teamed up with new trainer Jamie Moore, and joined MTK Global, with the company acting in an advisory role around his promotion and boxing decisions. The company is run by Irish former middleweight champion Matthew Jacklin.
Frampton’s commercial interests continue to be represented by Benchmark Talent, who have advised on his personal commercial deals and appearances for the past three years with current partners including JD Sports and MSC Nutrition.
With a new team in place Frampton has stated he is “desperate to kick on and have a fight before Christmas”, with a fight at Windsor Park next summer also in his sights.
