In an attempt to attract new fans to horse racing, free admission is to be offered at 8 meetings across the country between 26th April and 1st May.

The initiative has been organised by ‘Racing for Change’ as part of a campaign to broaden the sport’s appeal.

The promotion will be backed by a PR push at national and local level and advertising campaigns on regional radio.

Eight courses including Ascot, Goodwood, Kempton and Doncaster will take part in the initiative and provide afternoon and evening meetings, as well as a choice of racing- either over the jumps or on the flat.

The week will also be used by ‘Racing for Change’ to test a number of initiatives it announced at the start of the year, including a new display of photo-finish results on big screens.

The free-admission fixtures will be: 26th April – Towcester and Wolverhampton, 27th – Sedgefield (evening), 28th – Ascot and Kempton (evening), 29th – Huntingdon (evening), 30th – Doncaster and 1st May – Goodwood.
