The Sports PR Company has announced it will be representing the reigning Tour de France champion Chris Froome for worldwide personal PR and sponsorship.

The British cyclist, who races for Team Sky, will be defending his title this year with the aim of being the first British cyclist to successfully retain the yellow jersey two years running.

The 2013 Velo d’Or winner – awarded to the best rider of the year – will be releasing his autobiography “The Climb” in June. The book will tell the tale of his journey from riding through the townships of Kenya to his incredible victory of the 2013 Tour de France.

This year Froome will begin his defence in the UK, as the 101st edition of the Tour de France kicks off in Yorkshire.

Beginning 5th July, riders will cycle the 191km from Leeds to Harrogate before travelling the 198km from York to Sheffield the following day. This will be followed by the return of the tour to London for the first time since 2007 when the peloton will make its way from Cambridge to the Capital on 7th July.

It will be the fourth time that cycling’s biggest event will pass through the UK, with previous visits in 1974, 1994 and 2007.
