Jonathan Gregory, the former director of partnerships for England’s bid to host the 2018 World Cup, has been appointed as the new commercial director for Premier League club Fulham.
Gregory, who brought in close to 50 commercial partners to England’s ultimately unsuccessful bid to stage the World Cup, will begin his role at Fulham with immediate effect.
Prior to his stint at England 2018, Gregory was commercial director at Wembley Stadium where he implemented a highly successful commercial programme attracting three founding partner brands – Microsoft, Umbro and Carlsberg – to sponsor the new development in lucrative multi-million pound deals.
Fulham is one year in to a three-year shirt sponsorship deal with FxPro Financial Services while Kappa holds the existing kit contract.
The club also named a new manager in Martin Jol over the summer and have already begun their season in the pre-qualifying matches for the Europa League.
