With a few days to go until the inaugural Sport Industry NextGen: A Celebration, former Swansea City FC manager Garry Monk has been confirmed to share his leadership journey that saw the former centre back become manager of the club he appeared over 200 times for as a player, at just 34 years old.

Monk played for Swansea City in all four divisions of professional football, rising from League Two player to Premier League manager in just ten years.

Women’s Cricket World Cup winner Ebony Rainford-Brent has also been announced, and will round off the evening’s content by joining Women’s Rugby World Cup winner Maggie Alphonsi on stage to discuss what it takes to succeed in sport.

The unique occasion – designed to help rising talent in the industry learn and network alongside the sector’s senior leaders – will begin with an opening address from business and leadership expert Rene Carayol before the 28 Sport Industry NextGen Leaders take to the stage.

The evening will also see Q&As and discussion from Williams Martini Racing deputy team principal Claire Williams; co-founder and CEO of Entrepreneur First, Matt Clifford; writer, communicator and strategist Alastair Campbell and more.

The event will see the 28 Sport Industry NextGen Leaders – selected from a wide range of organisations including AELTC, Arsenal FC, British Gas, Comic Relief, CSM, ESPN, Liverpool FC, Sky Sports, UK Sport and more – recognised in front of their CEOs, industry peers and more in what is set to be a packed house.

Ticket prices have been kept low at £149 + VAT (with discounts on group purchases) which includes the full schedule of the evening’s educational content, as well as plenty of drinks and delicious bowl food to ensure industry professionals at all levels can get together and discuss the present and the future of leadership in the sport industry.

A limited number of spaces remain for the event, which takes place at Village Underground, Shoreditch, on Wednesday 27th January – book your place here
