European start-up, hoolio, is looking to get people fit without leaving the house combining fitness trends and technology including the Apple Watch and Apple TV to create a gym in the living room.
hoolio pulls together fitness videos on the internet into one place, the shared screen technology then allows users to invite friends to join their workout adding a social aspect. The platform will also include original video content as well as fitness plans that will be personalised.
The platform offers both free and paid memberships and in addition to curated videos from fitness contributors on the web, hoolio will also provide original content including video workouts created by personal trainers.
Initial collaborators include celebrity trainer Svava Sigbertsdottir whose current Viking Method regime is the latest fitness trend. She currently trains celebrities such as Suki Waterhouse and Nicole Scherzinger.
hoolio aims to change the experience of working out from home by making home workouts social, measurable and curated depending on fitness level, mood or time.
Nicholas Douzinas, founder of hoolio said: “I was initially inspired to set up Hoolio by my wife who was desperate for an exercise routine that fitted around having a new baby but realised that it is a struggle that most young professionals and parents have. Most people who work out from home don’t know which videos or fitness exercises to choose, can’t measure their performance and find it to be a lonely experience. We hope that hoolio will provide a platform that meets all of these needs while integrating cutting edge technology for the most advanced offering.”
hoolio will allow content providers to showcase their work and monetise it through either revenue share, or upfront payment and will be available for free in the UK now.
