Cornwall-based food producer Ginsters has signed a sponsorship deal with I AM PLAYR, the first-ever point-of-view computer football game.
Ginsters will be shirt sponsors of fictional football club River Park FC, and integrated into the I AM PLAYR storyline and represents Ginsters’ first move into in-game advertising.
I AM PLAYR, from developers We R Interactive, puts the use in the boots of a professional player at River Park, and all your training and lifestyle decisions are made through the game.
Former Manchester United & England star Teddy Sheringham is one of a number of stars lined up for cameo roles in the game.
Ginsters will also run on-pack promotions providing consumers with a discount code to join the I AM PLAYR game and collect in-game rewards.?
Ginsters already moved into football as shirt sponsors of Plymouth Argyle FC.
In the deal brokered by Starcom Mediavest, Ginsters now join Nike as a sponsor of I AM PLAYR.
