Organisers of this summer’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow have agreed a partnership with Technogym, who becomes the Official Provider of Fitness Equipment for Glasgow 2014, and will make its equipment available at the fitness centres inside the Athletes’ Village.

Technogym has served as an official supplier to five Olympic Games and has also installed equipment at St George’s Park and the McLaren Technology Centre.

David Grevemberg, Glasgow 2014 chief executive, said of the deal: ‘It is vital for our competing athletes to have access to the highest quality training equipment within the fitness centres at the Village.’

‘We are delighted to have the experience of Technogym as part of the set-up to galvanise and support the participating teams as they aspire to new achievements this year.’

Meanwhile, organisers have also confirmed that tickets will go back on sale this Wednesday (21st May) at 10.00 in a phased release over three days. The first batch of tickets available for sale from Wednesday will be for the team sports and ceremonies.

Tickets for the next batch of sports will be available on Thursday and by Friday all remaining sports will be back on public sale.

The website was closed last week while Glasgow 2014 reviewed online issues with ticketing provider Ticketmaster.

Problems began when the sales window opened on Monday after numerous reports that potential buyers had not been able to connect their calls, or successfully purchase tickets online, leading to the process being suspended.
