Gloucester Rugby has agreed a new partnership with X-Blades Sports as the side’s new kit supplier for the 2015/16 season, following the signing of Mitsubishi Motors UK as its new primary partner last month.

X-Blades, an Australian company which launched in the UK in 2012, will provide the Aviva Premiership club with playing kit for domestic and European matches, as well as leisure wear and training apparel.

The club’s new kit supplier already backs a trio of Gloucester players; Jonny May, Rob Cook and Richard Hibbard.

X-Blades’ owners, including Rugby World Cup winner Jason Robinson and company managing director Shane Miller, expressed their delight with the new partnership.

Miller stated: “Landing the Gloucester contract is amazing as we can now add Gloucester Rugby to our impressive list of partner clubs, which includes Cronulla Sharks, Parramatta Eels, Castleford Tigers and Featherstone Rovers.”

Jason Robinson has been helping drive the X-Blades brand since retiring from the game.

He commented: “I’m still heavily involved in rugby as a sport, not so much on the field but being able to offer clubs and players alike some of the best clothing and equipment on the market is very exciting.

“To be able to compete with the longer established brands in the UK is great and this is just the start of things to come!”

Gloucester chief executive Stephen Vaughan added: “We’ve consulted with supporter groups over the potential designs and I think we’re going to have the most popular kits for many a year.”
