The Goat Agency has announced that private equity firm Inflexion has made a minority investment in the agency.
The investment will be made into the social media and influencer marketing agency by Inflexion Enterprise Fund V, Inflexion’s lower mid‐market fund.
Goat, which is headquartered in London but employs 112 staff split between the UK, US and Asia, has worked across sporting clients such as UEFA and Formula E, and has also run campaigns for the likes of Dell and Tesco.
Goat will continue to be led by its founders Nick Cooke, Harry Hugo and Arron Shepherd (above).
“We were immediately drawn to Inflexion as they really understood our business, as well as the social media sub-sector,” said Shepherd.
“The business we have built has expanded quickly in the six years since we set it up, and it feels like a logical next step to partner with Inflexion as we look to expand into new territories and extend our data capabilities even further.”
Simon Turner, Managing Partner, Inflexion, added, “Goat is a dynamic and progressive business with a unique market position. Influencer marketing is becoming an increasingly important way to engage consumers and Goat is the market leader in its field. The company already has world-class digital and data capabilities, and we are confident that together we can grow the business to a position of unique scale in its markets.”
Goat says its data-led approach will be expanded with the help of Inflexion’s network of Digital Associates, and will aim to sustain its international growth with support from Inflexion’s in-country experts.
The business has grown rapidly since foundation with revenues growing at over 60% per year. Inflexion will work with Goat to sustain its impressive growth trajectory in international markets, with support from Inflexion’s in-country experts
