Gopro Partners With NHL

Camera equipment brand GoPro has announced a partnership with the NHL North American ice hockey league and the NHL Players’ Association.

As part of the deal, which is GoPro’s first major agreement with a professional sports league, footage from GoPro cameras on players, referees and from cameras placed around the rink will be shown as part of the live broadcast from certain events across television, digital and social media platforms.

Commenting on the partnership, Bob Chesterman, senior vice president of programming and production, NHL, said: “As the preeminent leader in adaptable cameras, only GoPro has the technology to help us and our media partners showcase the beauty and intensity of hockey in new and deeper ways.

“Our partnership with GoPro will be a big win for both new and lifelong hockey fans.”

The length of the agreement has not been disclosed.
