GoPro has expanded its sponsorship portfolio in sport after being named the official camera of the ASO and the Tour de France, and Velon, a group of 11 UCI World Tour cycling teams.
As part of the deal, GoPro will mount cameras to cyclists as they compete at the Tour de France and will display the content across its social media channels, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Vine.
An idea of the offering available from GoPro can be viewed at Sport Industry TV.
GoPro also confirmed details of the GoPro “Ride of the Day”, featuring daily coverage of the tour, as well as clips from the social community.
The Ride of the Day initiative will see submissions considered for prizes, ranging from a GoPro bike kit to a VIP place at the Tour de France finish line in Paris.
The Tour de France runs from 4th July-26th July.
