PFA CEO Gordon Taylor has announced that he will stand down from his role at the end of the season.
Taylor, who has held the role since 1981, announced his resignation in a letter to members, after having first made his intention to step down public in March 2019, following the announcement of a review into the organisation’s finances.
That review was completed in July.
“As I announced at our previous AGM, now that the Independent Review process has completed, I too will step down, by the end of the current season,” he said.
“A new Chief Executive will be elected following the recruitment procedure recommended by the Independent Review, and we have already made substantial progress in that direction. I will of course be available in the future whenever needed to support the PFA.”
The 2020 AGM will take place on Thursday 26th November, when members will vote on a new governance structure for the organisation.
