Governing Body Of The Year Shortlist Unveiled

The Official Shortlist for the Governing Body of the Year, in association with The Daily Telegraph, has been announced with British Fencing, British Gymnastics, England Hockey, England Squash, Premiership Rugby and The Football League completing the list for 2016.

The award recognises single sport governing bodies, or operators of a league or competition, that have significantly shone across three key pillars: Leadership, Community and Performance.

Nick Keller, chairman, Sport Industry Group, commented: “In a year when national governing bodies are reviewing their roles, not just in sport but in society, it’s fantastic to see such a diverse group of organisations that are making such an effort to take sport into our communities, reach higher levels of performance, and engage with the corporate world.”

The shortlist for the Governing Body of the Year Award was decided by a specialist Steering Committee, ahead of the final Judging Panel, all overseen by our independent adjudicators, EY. Check out the full Official Shortlist here.
