Grand Slam Track (GST) has announced Philadelphia Miami as the host cities for the new track league’s third and second Slams in 2025.

The Miami Slam will be held at the Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar on 2nd, 3rd and 4th May.

Four weeks later, the Philadelphia Slam will take place from 30th May until 1st June at Franklin Field, the home of the Penn Quakers.

Earlier this week, Grand Slam Track revealed Kingston as the host city for the league’s inaugural event in March.

Founded by four-time Olympic gold medallist Michael Johnson, GST is aiming to drive fan engagement and commercial growth for the sport, offering a prize purse of $12.6m (£9.9m) across four races annually.

As outlined during the league’s launch in June, each of the GST Slam events will comprise 96 athletes; 48 contracted ‘Racers’, alongside 48 ‘Challengers’, who will compete on a race-to-race basis.

The last of GST’s four venues for the 2025 season has yet to be revealed, with Los Angeles already confirmed as the destination.

“Philly has a reputation for bringing intensity to every event, and that’s exactly what we’re looking for with Grand Slam Track,” Johnson said.

“There’s a unique energy in this city, and we’re excited to see how the athletes respond to that.

“Philadelphia’s sports culture is something else, and it’s going to elevate the competition.”

Reflecting on the inclusion of Miami as a host City, Johnson said, “South Florida knows how to host big events, and that’s exactly what we’re bringing with Grand Slam Track.

“We’re building something special, and Miami is going to be a huge part of that.”
