Pulselive, the digital division of sports innovators Hawk-Eye, has announced the release of the official ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 app for iOS and Android, as the competition prepares to get underway this weekend.
According to the team, the app will include “a number of unique features designed to enhance the user experience and enjoyment of ICC’s flagship tournament, including access to the new ICC Match Centre which will keep fans up to date on all the live scores and ball-by-ball commentary, as well as, for the first time, integrating insightful analysis using Hawk-Eye’s ball-tracking data.”
The app will also feature in-match video highlights including key dismissals, big innings and post-match press conferences.
Pulselive, who has also launched a new tournament website to compliment the app, holds official partner status with both Twitter and Facebook, which has enabled the development of a number of interactive features, where users can express opinions through polls and via the Social Hub that will sync with live TV broadcast.
Campbell Jamieson, general manager – commercial at the ICC, said: “The ICC is committed to growing the game of cricket globally and serving cricket fans in the best possible way.
“In Pulselive we have a digital provider that understands our needs as a federation, as well as the needs of cricket fans. The development of this mobile app allows us to deliver the ICC Cricket World Cup directly to fans all over the world.”
Wyndham Richardson, managing director of Pulselive added: “We are delighted to be the digital partner of the ICC and are proud to launch the official ICC World Cup Cricket application. It promises to be a huge event and we wanted to create an app that combines great content with interactivity to deliver a fully immersive fan experience.”
