Hearn Gets Another Snooker Sponsor

Barry Hearn has secured another sponsor for World Snooker as Sanyuan Foods agree to sponsor the China Open.

Hearn, who succeeded Sir Rodney Walker in December, has succeeded in attracting financial backing for each tournament since then, with betting firms signing up to sponsor the Masters and Welsh Open.

The world ranking tournament takes place at the Beijing Students University Stadium from 29th March to 4th April.

Peter Ebdon will defend his title against the world’s top players, including Ronnie O’Sullivan, Stephen Hendry and John Higgins.

Hearn, who is also chairman of the Professional Darts Corporation, has insisted snooker needs a revamp to attract more sponsorship deals.
