Vitality has agreed a new partnership with England women’s cricket captain Heather Knight, who becomes a Vitality ambassador, joining fellow England cricket captain Joe Root, as well as Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, Maro Itoje, Ellie Simmonds and Jonny Wilkinson.

As part of her new role, Heather will be motivating people to make positive changes to their health and wellbeing, featuring in Vitality’s latest marketing campaign, appearing in a series of TV idents shown across Sky News sports bulletins.

The health and life insurer has an extensive cricket portfolio, with Joe Root signing up as a Vitality ambassador in 2016, while the company also recently announced a title partnership of T20 cricket, including Vitality IT20s, the Vitality Blast and a range of key grassroots T20 tournaments.

New Vitality ambassador Heather Knight, who spoke at the Sport Industry Private Dining Club in May, said: “I’m really excited to join Vitality as an ambassador. I’m passionate about health and wellbeing and I’m looking forward to inspiring others to make positive lifestyle changes. Everyone should have the opportunity to live a healthier life so I’m very proud to work with Vitality alongside such an amazing group of sporting ambassadors to help share this message.”

Neville Koopowitz, CEO of Vitality, added: “Heather is a fantastic addition to our extraordinary group of Vitality ambassadors. She is an incredible talent and inspirational role model who captivated the nation when she led the England women’s cricket team to their fabulous World Cup win last year. It’s great to have her on board and we look forward to working with her and sharing our collective passion for healthy living.”
