The rugby season is set to expand across Europe again after the 17th Heineken Cup was officially launched at Twickenham Stadium.
Europe’s elite clubs will face each other from the weekend of 11th to 13th November with the final taking place at Twickenham in May 2012.
Leinster Rugby, who will be chasing a third title in the space of four seasons, kick-off against tournament new boys Montpellier in Pool 2.
Director of Rugby, Mark McCall, told media: ‘The Heineken Cup is really important to us. We want to do better than we did in Europe last season. We had an incredibly difficult group but it was a very important experience for us.’
The Heineken Cup competition was launched on Monday, with representatives of every club taking part in the annual photoshoot.
