The Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has announced that the league sponsorship programme has sold out for the third year in a row, as the tournament got underway this weekend.

The franchise-based Twenty20 tournament, which attracted a global audience in excess of 65 million in 2014, has a new title sponsor in Hero Motocorp, an Indian motorcycle and scooter manufacturer.

Republic Bank, Unibet and Western Union have been signed as official sponsors of the tournament, while Alcatel has joined as an official partner to complete the new additions to the sponsorship programme.

The Hero CPL has also extended its relationships with Digicel, El Dorado Rum, Guardian Group, Caribbean Airlines and furniture and electronic goods retailer Courts.

Founding partner Limacol will move into the umpires and referees sponsorship for the tournament.

Busta Soft Drinks and Flavorite Ice Cream continue as official suppliers to the league, while Shell Lubricants is conducting ticket promotions across the region.

Jamie Stewart, Hero Caribbean Premier League commercial director, commented: “It is a great pleasure to announce that the CPL 2015 Partnership Programme is fully subscribed.

“With some great global companies like Hero, Alcatel and Western Union, along with the crème of Caribbean brands such as Digicel, Guardian Group and El Dorado Rum, CPL has attracted massive support in a region not historically known to generate this kind of support.

“This strong programme demonstrates that CPL has been able to create and deliver a marketing platform that brands and governments see immense value in utilising.

“In order for CPL to be able to stage an event of this magnitude across the Caribbean islands, strong partners are essential. We extend our gratitude, and that of the millions of CPL fans around the world, to the companies that make the biggest party in sport possible.”

The CPL, which was launched in 2013, runs from 20th June to 26th July.
