Keith Hogg, chairman of Harlequins rugby league club, has resigned from his post after only 15 months in the role.
Hogg cited family and business reasons for his early departure and will be replaced at the Twickenham Stoop by former chairman David Hughes.
Commented Hogg: ‘I live in Scotland and it really isn’t fair on my family for me to spend as much time travelling to games as I have done over the last year.
‘I also need to progress my commercial interests, and these are now largely in Scotland. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as chairman of Harlequins Rugby League, and in an ideal world I would love to continue.”
Hogg’s successor David Hughes is the club’s majority shareholder, and previously held the post of chairman after the sale of the then London Broncos by Sir Richard Branson in 2001.
