When it comes to working out, press-ups, sit-ups and squats are the first choice exercises for most people that are not members of a gym. Yet, for many, those well placed aspirations quickly fall away through a combination of boredom, motivation and interest.

These are the claims from the latest entrant to the fitness market hoping to change that.

Micore fitness is a new tech based system, introducing interactive measurement and tailored instructions to the home workout. The system features a series of programs designed to work core muscle groups, alongside a dashboard with a series of panels from left to right.

When a light comes on, the user performs a repetition of the desires exercise, touching it with the corresponding hand to extinguish it. Then another randomly generated light elsewhere on the dashboard will light-up ahead of the next repetition.

The system also works on a series of programmes designed to test speed, dexterity and reaction time. This gives the user a benchmark each time the system is used and keeps a record of what has been achieved. It also adds an element of competition with users able to compete against the system or each other.

Speaking at the launch, Tommy Dann, Micore founder said: “Simple exercises like sit-ups and press-ups are things anybody can do from home. By adding an element of competitiveness and monitoring, we have made them challenging, fun and more inspiring. All things that mean people are more likely to stick to their goals. We’ve not reinvented the wheel when it comes to fitness; we’ve simply taken fundamental core exercises and brought them into the 21st Century.”

Micore is priced at £74.99 and is available online at www.Micorefitness.com.
