Sport organisations and sponsors Nike gave Kobe Bryant a social media send-off as he ended his 20-year career with a season-high 60 points, guiding the LA Lakers to a 101-96 comeback win over the Utah Jazz.
Nike launched a social media campaign named #MambaDay, to pay tribute to Bryant ahead of his final game. The advert included an advert introducing the campaign featuring more than 30 Nike athletes including Roger Federer, Serena Williams, LeBron James and Neymar Jr.

Continuing the #MambaDay campaign, a special website allowed fans to create their own poster featuring their photo and favourite adjective to describe Kobe Bryant.

First, users choose whether to love or to hate in order to open a list of words, then upload a photo which then creates a black and white poster to be downloaded free.
Elsehwere, the #ThankYouKobe hashtag engaged users with memories of Kobe, which included fellow NBA players, the NA, news outlets and players from other sports sharing their feelings.
