The DP World Tour and HSBC have extended their partnership, which includes title sponsorship of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

The longstanding agreement between the European gold circuit and British bank dates back to 2011, with the latest renewal covering this year’s edition of the event.

The 2024 Abu Dhabi Championship will be staged at Yas Island, taking place between 7th and 10th November.

The Rolex Series event will comprise the leading 70 players on the Race to Dubai rankings, with the top 50 set to progress to the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

The tournament serves as one of the tour’s two play-off events, which offer a combined prize purse of $19m (£14.6m).

“The new format DP World Tour play-offs sees the tournament entering a new era, and HSBC has been supporting growth ambitions and opportunities across the UAE since we first opened our doors for business here more than 75 years ago,” said Jonathan Castleman, Global Head of Brand at HSBC.

“We can’t wait to welcome fans old and new to Yas Links in November where entry is free for all.”

Max Hamilton, Group Commercial Director at the DP World Tour, added, “HSBC’s excellence in partnership activation, honed by supporting the game of golf for many years, has been pivotal in building the [Abu Dhabi Championship] into what it is today.

“The event’s new November slot within the DP World Tour Play-Offs will further elevate its profile as world class golfers descend on Yas Links once again.”
