As expected, HSBC has been confirmed as the principal shirt sponsor for the British & Irish Lions tour to South Africa in 2009.
As part of the partnership unveiled today, HSBC will be working closely with the British & Irish Lions Committee to develop a programme of business-to-business, consumer and grassroots activity during the build-up to the tour.
Sports marketing agency Fast Track has been appointed to implement HSBC’s sponsorship of the Lions which is rumoured to be worth in the region of £4m.
HSBC replaces previous principal partner Zurich and be joined by a host of other brands with a number of secondary partnership packages available.
Sports agency Essentially is handling the sale of sponsorship packages on behalf of the Lions Committee.
