HSE Cake has been appointed to deliver advertising, creative and PR activation for the ICC Women’s World Cup, as well as PR activation for the ICC Champions Trophy.

The decision followed a pitch process organised by the game’s global governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the tournaments’ local organising body, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

HSE Cake has been charged with creating an above-the-line campaign for the ICC Women’s World Cup. The agency will look to help cricket engage with audiences both in the UK and overseas.

HSE Cake will work alongside creative agency Matta on the ICC Champions Trophy and the men’s 50 over competition.

Jim Dowling, managing director, HSE Cake said: “We’re looking forward to producing some fresh and ambitious campaigns for cricket in England during 2017. It’s a great honour to be handed the opportunity to support the ICC Women’s World Cup, the biggest event women’s cricket will have ever seen.”

“It’s time women’s cricket in particular got the recognition – and crowds – it deserves, and our work will focus on showing audiences just how exhilarating having the World Cup in our country will be.”

“A World Cup on home soil is a special event; and we will revel in rallying the nation to support women’s cricket and cricketers next summer.”

Zarah Al-Kudcy, head of marketing, ECB Global Events added: “We were very impressed with the creativity and the high level of strategic thought that HSE Cake brought to the process and believe we have an extremely exciting campaign. Their flair and record of brilliant execution is just what we were looking for to delight cricket audiences during what will be an outstanding summer for the international game.”

The account will be headed up by HSE Cake account director Lucy Basden-Smith, working with Zarah Al-Kudcy, head of marketing for ECB Global Events, the tournament’s host organiser.
