Hublot has unveiled a new ‘Big Bang e connected’ watch which will be the Official Timepiece of UEFA EURO 2020.

The tournament’s Official Timekeeper launched the new watch on the 30 days to go mark until the tournament kicks off, and also revealed it will host a brand-new podcast series which will feature a host of the world’s greatest sporting icons from beyond the confines of Europe and also football.

The brand has also announced a new NFT launch, with the first 200 purchasers of the watch to receive the token, which will contain an excerpt from one of the episodes of the Hublot Fusion Podcast. The tokens were developed alongside ETHEREUM software company ConsenSys.

The watch is a limited-edition drop which features 1,000 pieces, and sports the colours of the flags of the 12 nations initially planned to host – meaning it will feature an Irish flag, though no game will be played in Dublin.

The Hublot Fusion Podcast, meanwhile, will be hosted by French sports broadcaster Anne-Laure Bonnet and will feature 12 episodes, which feature interviews with sporting heroes, including the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Jose Mourinho, and Pele. It will also include episodes with more than one guest, including England manager Gareth Southgate alongside sprinter Dina Asher-Smith, Belgium manager Roberto Martinez and former cricketer Kevin Pietersen, and US Women’s National Team star Alex Morgan and golf major winner Dustin Johnson.

The podcasts will focus on what Hublot refers to as the ’12 universal values of victory: solidarity, union, passion, commitment, inclusion, equality, friendship, justice, respect, fair play, tolerance and sharing’.

At the tournament itself, meanwhile, the fourth official’s board will sport Hublot colours, while referees will wear special Big Bang e Referee watches.
