The Hundred has announced that British singer-songwriter Becky Hill will perform at the opening game of The Hundred at The Kia Oval in London on 21st July, and has also launched a new #BeThere campaign in the build-up to the event.
The tournament’s opening game will be the first time a women’s match has kicked off a major sporting event in the UK, and The Hundred says this is part of its ambition to ‘elevate the women’s game’.
The match – broadcast live on Sky and BBC – will see Hill perform live before the Oval Invincibles take on the Manchester Originals. Her performance will also kick off the tournament’s partnership with musicians across the country.
The Hundred will also collaborate with BBC Music Introducing in a deal which will see an up-and-coming DJ embedded into each of the eight new teams, curating a ‘unique soundtrack’ which will be ‘reflective of their city and the people within it’. They will play live music at each game in a bid to bring fans into the action.
The news coincides with the launch of The Hundred’s #BeThere film, which it says is a ‘call to arms’, urging fans to witness a ‘truly historic moment’ as fans attend the first women’s game.

“What an incredible honour to be a part of this moment for women’s sport,” said Hill.
“Not only to be back in front of a live audience performing my own songs which I’ve not been able to perform yet, but also to be there supporting the women’s game and soaking up the atmosphere. It finally feels like the summer is returning after being indoors for so long! The Hundred is a great idea. Thank you so much for having me, I can’t wait to be a part of it!”
The move comes on the back of The Hundred’s announcement that Producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist Jax Jones will perform at The Hundred Final at Lord’s in London on 21st August.
