Iaaf To Inspect London 2015 Bid
Inspectors from the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), are set to begin a three-day visit to London to assess the bid to host the 2015 World Athletics Championships.??
The London 2015 bid would see the event take place in the 2012 Olympic Stadium, however, with the future of the location not yet known – it could present a stumbling block.
It is rumoured that Premier League club West Ham is in pole position to take over the venue, however, the club has indicated that it would be happy with the stadium being used for multi-purpose events.
London is bidding solely against Beijing after Chorzow in Poland failed to progress far enough into its bid to make it to the inspection stage.??
Beijing will host the inspectors next month and a final decision will be taken at the IAAF Council meeting in November.
