Atomic Sport has announced the appointment of Ian Field as director of the agency looking after the UK business.

Field spent nine years with the Ogilvy Group specialising in brand activation for Ford on UEFA Champions League, England RFU and The FA. He also worked with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes and Michelin in leveraging their role in Formula One.

He also brings international experience having spent five years living and working in Asia developing brand and partnership strategy for Lagardère Sports’ stable of properties including the AFC Champions League, the Asian Cup and OneAsia Golf.

As director of marketing & development at the Hong Kong Sports Institute he developed, launched and implemented a step-change brand and commercial strategy to support the launch of the £180m redeveloped infrastructure and facilities.

Ian will be responsible for managing the agency’s existing UK and international clients such as Harlequins FC and the International Cricket Council and will look to grow the business as a leading brand management agency for clubs and rights holders in the UK and beyond.

Atomic Sport’s Patrick Murphy said: “Ian brings an extremely impressive skillset to Atomic Sport, having worked on some of the world’s largest sponsorship activations, allied to his strong advertising and brand experience and time spent working for international right holders”.

Ian has already set about growing Atomic Sport’s UK business and will shortly announce the agency’s latest role as brand management agency to a flagship UK rights holder.
