Essentially has been appointed to manage and implement all sponsorship and activation within cricket for the global online brand Yahoo!, including its partnership with the ICC.


The sports marketing agency has been briefed to work on behalf of Yahoo! across the ICC T20 World Cup, highlighting its involvement and ensuring that Yahoo! interacts with the crowd in a unique way that sticks to the message the tournament strives to convey.


Further to its global relationship with the ICC, Yahoo! recently announced a partnership with England’s T20 captain Paul Collingwood, allowing it to offer its sporting fans an exclusive insight into the life of an international cricketer for the duration of the T20 World Cup and the npower Ashes.


The ICC’s involvement with Yahoo!, both on a tournament and player sponsorship level comes in the midst of efforts being made by the governing body to reach out to a new, younger audience.
