ICON has officially started its entry into South East Asia with the establishment of a new office in Singapore. The company – part of CSM Sport & Entertainment, chaired by Sebastian Coe, and a division of Chime Communications plc – has worked on the Look and Feel for globally recognised events; including the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the UEFA Euros in 2004, 2008 and 2012; the FIFA World Cups during 2006 and 2010, and are currently working on the 2014 World Cup in Rio, Brazil.

Last month ICON also extended its partnership with the BT Sport Industry Awards and will once again support the Best Sponsorship of an Event or Competition category for the 2014 edition on 8th May.

Steve Edwards, regional manager Singapore, commented on the expansion: ‘The new office is a strategic investment in Asia and will serve ICON’s success in the Asian market; we see a long term rewarding business both in Singapore and within the region.’

The Singapore office presents a great milestone for ICON enabling them to realise their long-term business plans within the competitive Asian market. Last year ICON worked on the inaugural Bloomberg Square Mile Relay in Singapore (pictured above).

John Francis, CEO of ICON, added: ‘Our sector leading expertise in live event production and branding has enabled us to work with a number of leading organisations including FIFA, adidas, Hugo Boss and Barclays Bank; bringing the brand to life and creating an unforgettable brand experience.’

‘Our original success in Qatar led to further expansion into the UAE, and more recently Oman, with the long term intention that Singapore becomes ICON’s regional hub for the Asian market following the same successful method adopted already in the Middle East.’

Being the only specialist signage and branding agency in Singapore, ICON will contribute their vast experience and expertise to the Singapore Vision 2030 ‘live better through sports’, benefiting upcoming major events like the WTA Tennis Championships, Southeast Asia Games and the ASEAN Para Games 2015.
