Harlequins has confirmed that official sponsor IG has stepped up its support of the club to become the principal sponsor for the Big Game 6, when the club takes on Exeter Chiefs in the Aviva Premiership at Twickenham Stadium on 28th December.

As the principal sponsor, the financial services company – who signed a three-year deal to become an official sponsor of the club last month – will receive extensive stadium branding as well as their logo on the right sleeve of the match shirts. IG and Harlequins will also putting on various experiential events allowing spectators to ‘show their colours’ and get behind the Harlequins team.

The Big Game series, now in its sixth year, is set to be the biggest to date with the club’s plans for the match due to be announced shortly.

In 2011, Harlequins set a then world record club attendance at rugby’s HQ, with a sell-out crowd of 82,000 – with the Aviva Premiership team expecting to sell out the fixture for a third consecutive year.

Commenting on the partnership, Harlequins commercial director James Kendall said: ‘We are delighted to have IG as the principal sponsor for the Big Game 6 for the next three years.’

‘The Big Game series has become a firm date in thousands of people’s diaries around the festive period and we are very excited to be hosting this exciting fixture once again.’

‘We hope all rugby supporters, old and new, and their families and friends will book their place at this Christmas’ hottest sporting event and be part of this special day.’

IG headquarters are based in London, with offices throughout Europe, the US, Asia and Australia.
