Img And World Snooker Extend Deal

IMG Media has announced it has extended its representation deal with World Snooker Limited (WSL), to distribute the worldwide media rights of all live coverage and highlights from WSL events.

The partnership will also include event development and promotion for IMG, as well as sponsorship rights.

Adam Kelly, senior vice president marketing and commercial director, IMG Media said: ‘We have long believed in the potential to grow the sport and have formed an even closer relationship with World Snooker that will help deliver a bright future. There is lots more to come from Snooker’.

The representation deal is ongoing, and seen as a long-term partnership for the two companies.

Chairman of World Snooker Ltd Barry Hearn, said: ‘Snooker is being enjoyed by a growing number of fans around the world through our international broadcast partnerships.  With IMG we are looking to develop snooker into a truly global sport with exposure to millions more fans’.

Next on the World Snooker calendar is the Players Tour Championship Finals between the 16th-20th March, building up to the World Snooker Championship at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, which starts 16th April.
