Img Extends Wsl Media Deal

IMG Sports Media has extended its deal with World Snooker Limited to distribute the worldwide media rights for the rights-holders events a further five years.

It will now run until the end of the 2015-16 season, but will exclude rights in the UK.

IMG Sports Media and World Snooker Ltd have managed to increase the audience, exposure and reach of the World Snooker tournaments over the past three years while simultaneously increasing license fee revenues, Adam Kelly, marketing director of IMG Sports Media, said.

The WSL circuit includes tournaments such as the UK Championship, China Open, the Masters and the Betfred.com World Championship.
