Img Worldwide Signs Up Ian Thorpe
IMG Worldwide, has announced that it has signed five-time Olympic gold medallist and Australian freestyle swimmer Ian Thorpe as a global client.??
The 22-time world record breaker will be represented by IMG globally outside of Australia, Japan and New Zealand, working closely with his existing team, Grand Slam Internationa. ??
IMG will also assist in the development of the Thorpedo brand and Ian Thorpe’s charitable organisation Fountain for Youth.
??Thorpe has won a total of nine Olympic medals including five gold and was the first person to win six gold medals in one World Championship.
??He added a further five (World Championship) medals to that score totalling 11 – the second highest number of medals awarded to any swimmer.??
Since taking a break from swimming Thorpe has dedicated his time to Ian Thorpe’s Fountain for Youth, that embraces humanity by nurturing children, specifically raising funds for disadvantaged children and research into childhood illnesses, focusing on education as a catalyst for improved health.
