Camden Town Brewery has turned its red can yellow to celebrate Arsenal’s first ever league and cup double, achieved 50 years ago in 1971.

The Premier League side is celebrating the milestone with its new away kit, which features a yellow colour similar to the shirts worn at Wembley when the Gunners completed the double. The adidas-made kits also replace the club badge with a canon crest, worn by players that day.

Inspired by the campaign, Camden Town Brewery – an Official Arsenal Partner – has launched a new ‘Double’ Hells Lager, turning the red can yellow and ‘doubling the best bits’ from its Hells lager – and increasing the ABV to 7.1% in a nod to the historic year.

A group of 23 former players and media names have called for an independent regulator for English football, launching a petition in an open letter calling for action after the launch of proposals for a European Super League failed.

Signed by the likes of Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Rio Ferdinand and Gary Lineker, as well as media figures such as journalist Henry Winter, presenter Laura Woods, and personalities such as Hashtag United’s Spencer Owen, the letter supports government legislation to ‘block any Premier League clubs attempting to abandon the country’s football pyramid’, as well as the appointment of an independent regulator.

The group also launched a petition to garner public support for their appeal.

Guild Esports, the esports team co-owned by David Beckham, has launched a new online training platform, Guild Academy in a bid to grow its talent pool of future pro players, as well as its fanbase and ‘long-term revenue streams’.

Designed for those aged 11 and over, the Academy will be available worldwide in English and is modelled on other sports academy systems.

Guild says it has drawn on Beckham’s first-hand experience about football academies, as well as external advice, to create its own model specifically tailored to esports, and will offer players individualised support and personalised challenges designed to nurture gameplay and build life skills.
