Arsenal have launched a new initiative which allows deaf or hard of hearing fans to communicate with the club using British Sign Language (BSL).
The service allows fans using BSL to connect with the club from the Arsenal website via a SignVideo link. They will then be able to have a conversation via a fully qualified interpreter who will relay the conversation to one of the club’s fan services team in real time. The club says this will allow fans to make enquiries, purchase tickets a or contact the Arsenal shop, Disability Liaison Team or customer service helpline.
The Rugby League World Cup 2021 has confirmed that the women’s tournament schedule has been extended to allow players to have additional rest between games.
The decision, taken in consultation with International Rugby League, the Rugby League Players Association, national federations and individual athletes, will see the turnaround time between games increase from the original plan of three days to four days.
The women’s tournament was scheduled to start on 13th November, but is now set to start four days earlier on 9th November to incorporate the change.
Southampton’s players and backroom staff have donated the wages from their game against Leicester City to the Saints Foundation, after suffering a humiliating 9-0 defeat. The players and staff will donate their day’s pay to the club’s charitable arm which works with 12,000 young people and adults every year.
Meanwhile, the club has announced a partnership with performance analytics firm Mediacells to drive its digital transformation.
Global Sports Week has announced UNESCO as a patron of the event, which will take place at the Louvre in Paris in February 2020. The new annual international forum will focus on ‘making the future of sport’ and will examine the relationship between sport and society as it faces shifts in social, technological and climate-related upheaval.
Celtic has announced Eleven Sports Media as a new Official Partner of the club.
The Scottish Champions have tasked the agency with bringing regional brands to the club through partner programmes, while Eleven will also install its fan engagement platform StatZone in Celtic Park as well as providing content to the club’s social media channels.
