The Barclays FA Women’s Super League (WSL) is to be broadcast overseas for the first time ever, following the influx of interest after this summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup, in France.
The FA has announced that it reached a deal with Sky Mexico to screen the WSL to viewers in Mexico, Central America and the Dominican Republic. The league will also be shown in Scandinavia through a deal with NENT, covering Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. As part of the agreement, the The FA Player – the new OTT service which provides live-streaming for WSL games – will be geoblocked in the countries served by NENT and Sky Mexico.
UEFA has announced a cap on the ticket prices for Champions League away matches.
Tickets will cost travelling fans a maximum of €70 in the UEFA Champions League and €45 in the UEFA Europa League as part of a compromise between European football’s governing body and Europe’s top clubs.
FIBA has extended its global deal with Wanda until 2031.
The FIBA Basketball World Cup tipped off in China on August 31st, and the 12-year deal will see Wanda and FIBA work to bring club basketball competitions to China and promote the game throughout the world.
