The BBC has announced that England’s 2-0 victory over Germany at the last-16 stage of UEFA EURO 2020 attracted a peak linear TV audience of 20.6 million, as well as 6.5 million live streams across BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport combined.

The TV audience represented 80.1% of viewers at the peak time, and makes it the largest audience for a football match in the UK since the semi-final of the 2018 World Cup, when England faced Croatia.

Meanwhile, the BBC says the 5.6 million streams that came solely from BBC iPlayer represents a new live-viewing record for the online streaming and OTT platform.

The ICC has confirmed that it has moved the upcoming men’s Twenty20 World Cup to the UAE and Oman.

According to the ICC, the move will ensure that there is ‘certainty’ that the 16-team tournament can be held safely between 17th October and 14th November as planned.
