The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games has launched an exclusive ticket ballot for West Midlands residents, ahead of the regular ticket ballot which takes place in September.
From 14th to 30th July, people who live in the region can apply for tickets, with more than one million available for the Games as a whole. Prices, meanwhile, start at £8 for under 16s and £15 for adults. Organisers say even the most expensive sessions – including medal sessions and opening and closing ceremonies – will all have £22 tickets available to make the Games as accessible as possible.
Birmingham 2022 organisers say the ballot is open to residents of the West Midlands, as defined by the Office of National Statistics – which includes people living in Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands, and Worcestershire. Organisers have also launched a postcode checker on their website to allow the public to check eligibility.

Supporters will be able to watch matches online, live, or on demand through Joymo’s integrated technology and tools, which also allow the rights holders to charge supporters per game, competition, or event or offer longer-term season ticket passes.
